Guess who is turning 6 months old?

Our  little (not so little anymore, if I'm being honest..) cavapoo named Teddy Graham.  March 3 is Teddy's 6 month birthday and it marks 3 months since we've been together.

Megan and I went shopping for some treats to give Teddy on his half birthday. We found doggie donuts (really hard dog cookies in the shape of a donut), doggie ice cream, and some new toys. We also bought him a Giants jersey. He was an extra small when we got him 3 months ago, so I thought the small would be a good fit. It was a bit snug, as our pup really loves his food and his size has been steadily growing.

I never had a pet my whole life until now. For a long time, I really hated dogs after my son was injured. I never thought we would ever get a dog.

I do believe in serendipity. I'm  not sure why or how but we found ourselves with hearts open to a dog and we pushed aside all the usual worries and woes about taking on a pet.

I'm so glad we did.

Teddy has brought so much joy to our family. My mom stays with him most of the day while we are at school and work and she loves him and cares for him in such a gentle, kind way. My children are excited to come home from school every day to see Teddy waiting. My husband loves play wrestling with Teddy and Teddy curls up on his backpack. We love taking Teddy on walks and playing with him. He's been a uniter- we can all talk about Teddy. He's brought us together in a beautiful way.

Happy 6 months to Teddy Graham. We love you, our little pup!

What a picture! I'm dying. He's SO CUTE! I was surprised to hear you got a dog after Alex's ordeal, but it sounds like it's working out beautifully. A pet can bring such much-needed joy to all of your/our lives. The three cats we're currently living with are just so fun! And they bring out such love. Happy half birthday, Teddy Graham! You are one adorable little boy.

I’m so thrilled you and your family have discovered the unconditional love of a dog. It’s totally understandable that you’d hesitate. Teddy Graham is adorable. You can come over for a doggie play date any time you want!
