I have one foot in summer and one foot in the new school year.
My summer self is not setting the alarm and choosing books to read for fun. My school self wakes up with a to-do list and schedules time to set up my classroom. My summer self plans activities for the kids, like flying on a trapeze later this week! My school self labels their supplies and puts them in their new backpacks. My summer self enjoys the feeling of unstructured days and later bedtimes. My school self worries that we need to start practicing routines again. My summer self holds my puppy Teddy while he sleeps, stroking his fur and feeling unrushed. My school self eventually puts him down to tackle the to-do list. My summer self is grateful for the chance each year to have months of time off. My school self is grateful to have the opportunity to work with children and help foster a love of learning. I have one foot in summer and one foot in the new school year.

Last week, my family went on a mini-vacation to Boston. I really didn't think we would go anywhere this summer for a few different reasons but the opportunity arose and we took it. If I could sum up the trip in 6 words, it would be.... Laundry before, Laundry after- worth it! Here are the pictures from our trip! We went to the Boston Zoo Lantern Festival, the Tea Party Tour and Museum, The Freedom Walk, Codzilla boat ride, scenic boat tour, New England Aquarium, and Bunker Hill.
