Courage Doesn't Always Roar:
The Quest to Be Better Each Day

#SOL21 OLw Wrap Up

12/28/2021

Solutions- that was my OLW for 2021. Instead of focusing on all the problems, I would spend my energy on solutions.

The word served me well-even though I haven't found solutions to all the problems in my life.

It did push me to do things like reorganize binders at work and think of the next best step instead of wallowing in what went wrong.

If you are still looking for a OLW for 2022, I think SOLUTIONS could serve you well, too. My previous words have included HAPPY, AUDACIOUS, TIME, and DO. I really love the tradition of picking a new OLW and I'm excited for this year's word....(It's posted already- see under this post- spoiler alert.....it's  CREATE!)

Did you pick a OLW? How did it fit in your life this year?

I don't know what an OLW is but I think I can guess. I think my favorite that you listed is AUDACIOUS!

"Solutions" is an intriguing OWL for the year, chosen when they were needed more than ever, I think! Love this focus on seeking even if solutions weren't t always found. I thought, momentarily, about the word "niche" as an OLW. So much angst comes from not finding one's niche... how to make this happen, in the big scheme of things?? Would be interesting to explore, I think. I adore this word choice, "create". It speaks to us at the very core of our humanity - we want to create, we are designed for it, and little children seem to know this best! I look forward to what you share and CREATE this year...while I keep myself open for "awe". <3

I love that OLW. This year mine was CONNECTION, and even though I was uncertain about how I'd be intentional with it, the word surprised me in the best ways throughout the year. I can't wait to read about how CREATE works through your 2022 :)

Your word did you serve you well, Kathleen. Even if you didn't find solutions for everything, you thought about finding them and that matters.

I'm thankful I selected JOY this past year. It really nudged me to look for the positive moments and everyday things that helped me live a happier life (amidst so much tumult in the world).

I love the OLW of SOLUTIONS. And I also love Fran's OLW - AWE. I will write my next post on my OLW - but I have a feeling it will be 3 little words. Is that cheating?!

Kathleen, your 2021 word is wonderful. I like that you choose such a strong, positive noun for your OLW. I commend you for your taking this path. I look forward to see how to expand on your 2022 word. Thanks for the sneak peek.
