Looks like we made it! Congratulations to everyone who has taken on this true challenge to blog and share for 31 days.
The last day always reminds me of the last day of camp or school. Goodbyes in the air and promises to keep in touch. The end of a chapter and the start of a new one. Personally, the challenge WAS challenging for me this year. The start of March collides with a few thingsI coordinate and made the first few days stressful. Early in the month I received some news that was upsetting but nothing I could blog about which also was hard. Navigating that while preparing for my daughter's birthday, then completing report cards all made the month a difficult one for for me for my best writing and sharing. I did not get to read so many posts I wanted to.. I plan to circle back and try to comment more even when the challenge ends. For the first time in 6 years, I missed two days of blogging this month. But instead of focusing on that failure, I will celebrate writing for 29 days in a hard season. Life isn't perfect and I'm not perfect. I did my best and for that I am proud. I'm hopeful next year I can write more eloquently and visit more blogs to read and comment. I hope you are proud of your collection of writing, for showing up on the hard days or coming back in if you couldn't show up. I hope you found community here and friends. I hope you come back on Tuesdays- weekly blogging is cake after daily blogging! I also hope you find rest and new hobbies and time to explore something new now that our monthly writing challenge comes to an end. Until next time....

Kathleen, Your reflection today is so honest. Perfection isn't the goal. Trying is. So glad we both tried to write here this month! I wish you some rest and relaxation in the month of April. I look forward to seeing you now on Tuesdays during the year. I plan to return but will be ok if a miss a Tuesday here or there. Have a great rest of your school year.

Kathleen, I appreciate you so much. I loved your Teddy Graham posts and seeing you as a dog mom. Like you, there are things I won’t blog about, and that can disrupt our public writing lives. I see 29 days writing as success. Two years ago I only blogged the first 17 days because I took a group of students to China and could not finish the challenge. Sometimes life interrupts our good intentions. I hope whatever is troubling you gets resolved soon and that you have people you can lean in as I have leaned on you in this community. Peace and blessings to you.

Dear Kathleen... I understand about the hard thing, the one you cannot write about... while I don't know the particulars I DO know the weight of carrying such a burden and the shadow a thing can cast over all other things. Yet... here you are, carrying on, shaking off the proverbial dust and pulling us along (quite lovingly) with you. You are a model of perseverance. You remind me not to give up and to keep aiming. The point of a goal is not always the value of attaining, strange as that sounds, but in the reaching. That's where all the good stuff happens.Thank you for always striving with writing and writers... always with grace and good will, of which I am a grateful beneficiary. I treasure this Challenge, this community, and you and your words - always.

You had me at Barry Manilow ;) Congratulations for the writing you did and the writing you inspired others to do -- including me! Thanks for being a leader in this community where I'm glad we get to reconnect on a regular basis.
